CPD training

SpaMedica works in partnership with optometrists to deliver the highest standards of care to our patients. This partnership includes us sharing ophthalmic knowledge and expertise through our CPD training. 

We run a variety of different CPD sessions throughout the year covering a range of topics and competencies. We offer a combination of in-person and virtual sessions providing differing amounts of CPD points.

CPD training

In November 2022, we held our first SpaMedica Optometry Conference at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, in association with Optos, Bausch & Lomb and Rayner. Attendees were able to attend five CPD sessions led by some of the industry’s leading consultant ophthalmologists and optometrists, picking up a full year’s worth of CPD points (12) in just one day.  

Some examples of recent SpaMedica CPD sessions include: 

  • ‘When eye problems become emergencies’ – a lecture delivered by Felipe Dhawahir-Scala, Consultant Ophthalmologist & Vitreoretinal Surgeon 
  • ‘The Future of Cataract Surgery: Innovations, Technology and Medication’ – a lecture delivered by Dr Alex Silvester, Medical Director at SpaMedica
