If you have been diagnosed with high blood pressure, in most cases, you will still be able to proceed with cataract surgery. Our patients can feel nervous during their appointments – especially on the day of their surgery – and this can make their blood pressure appear higher than usual (something known as White Coat Syndrome). We take this into account when taking your blood pressure readings and, as long as they’re not dangerously high, most surgeries are able to proceed as usual.
