SpaMedica was thrilled to exhibit at 100% Optical – the UK’s largest optical event – last month. The three-day event, which took place from 23rd-25th April at London’s ExCeL arena, attracts over 9,000 UK and international visitors and showcases the very best of optical services, solutions and technology. We exhibited alongside 200 other companies and talked to attendees about who we are, what we do, and our commitment to patient care.
Our marketing and promotions teams gave everyone a warm welcome at our exhibition stand, where visitors could find out more about our services, have a coffee and a chat with the team, and take home some branded collateral – including cupcakes, brochures, pens and torches. We also held a competition inviting people to guess how many hospitals we currently have – 38 (soon to be 40)! – with some volk lenses as the coveted prize. Our stand looked fantastic and succeeded in attracting the attention of hundreds of passers-by, who were able to experience SpaMedica’s trademark customer service for themselves.
We were delighted to sponsor one of the event’s main attractions – the Future Practice Consulting Room, where optometrists attended a variety of CPD sessions throughout the day, including seminars delivered by our Medical Director, Dr Alex Silvester, and our Director of Optometry, Chris Purslow. Topics included the use of artificial intelligence within ophthalmology, post-operative cataract surgery complications and when to refer cataract patients for surgery. The sessions received lots of positive feedback from attendees and positioned SpaMedica at the forefront of industry innovation.
100% Optical has been postponed for the last two years due to COVID, so it was wonderful to catch up with optometrists from across the country, talk to our fellow exhibitors, and meet lots of other industry experts face-to-face. We also enjoyed attending the famous fashion show – with glamourous models showcasing all the latest eyewear. We made the most of the networking opportunities by holding a Drinks Reception on Saturday night, which was attended by scores of optometrists and industry friends – and thoroughly enjoyed by all!
A huge “well done” to:
It was certainly a weekend to remember, and we loved hearing about – and seeing – all the latest developments in the sector.
